My son, Eric, has been blogging for a year now. Today, a friend from Dallas called to tell me that he just started a blog. So I've decided it's time for me to begin one. I have no idea what I'll say, but I'm going to record my thoughts and see what happens!
Pat is two weeks and two days out from the double surgery she had in San Francisco on July 18th. She's doing OK, but there's still a ways for her to go to be recovered. I'm "re-learning" that God never wastes pain or discomfort. I've been Pat's only care-giver over the past 2 weeks and it's been tough, but good! I've actually "felt" the grace of God giving me what I need during my weakest moments. It's been amazing! And I feel experiencing His grace is somehow connected to all of the prayers that I know have been going up for me and Pat from many wonderful family members and friends! THANKS everyone!
If you're going through some pain right now - don't let it go to waste! God will teach you and give you everything (and I mean everything) you need IF you look to Him! And in His mercy, He often gives us what we need when we're not looking! Thanks, Lord!
I lived in central California with my wife, Pat. I'm the Sr. Pastor of The Church of God of Exeter, CA. We have three grown children and three grandchildren. Our son, Chad, and his wife, Jessica, live in Arkansas and have twins (Adrew and Taryn) born in Jan.07 and another one on the way! Our son, Eric, serves as the Jr. High Pastor at Grace Community Church in Visalia, CA. Our youngest daughter, Amy, lives in Arlington, TX with our granddaughter, Ashlyn, born in Jan.02.
